How to Measure Your Bra Size at Home
Step 1: Determining your band size
While braless or wearing a non-padded bra, take a measuring tape and measure around your torso directly under your bust, where a bra band normally would sit.
The tape should be level and snug. Take a look at where the tapes intersect and round that number to the nearest whole number (e.g. 32.25 = 32, 33.75 = 34).
If the number is even, add four inches. If it’s odd, add five. (e.g. 34+4 = 38, 31+5=36)
The sum of this calculation is your band size! Hooray! Now let's move onto bust size!
Step 2: Determining your bust size
Take the same measuring tape and wrap it somewhat loosely around the fullest part of your chest (across the nipples).
Look at where the tapes intersect and round that number to the nearest whole number.
Step 3: Determining your cup size
Take the final number from Step 1 (band size) and subtract it from the final number from Step 2 (bust size).
Refer to the chart.
BUST SIZE - BAND SIZE = your bra size! (e.g. 37 inches (bust) – 34 inches (band) = 3 inches, 34C)
What are sister sizes?
Now that you know how to measure your bra size, you want to make sure that size is perfect for your unique body.
Sister sizes pay close attention to how your particular breast shape may affect the way certain bras fit and feel.
We're here to make sure that you're ultimately able to choose a style that will provide both comfort and maximum support!
The concept is simple: As the cup size goes up, the band’s width must come down (in order to maintain a proper ratio of breast to cup coverage). On the flip side, as the band measurement increases, the cup letter should decrease (once again, for the sake of proportion).
Here's an example: A 34B has sister sizes of either 32C or 36A! Please take a look at our chart for reference!
Use this chart here to make sure by finding your calculated bra size, and moving one space directly above or below.
** Remember that your bra size might change slightly depending on the brand or type of bra. Every manufacturer is unique, just as you are, therefore it's quite normal if it may take some trial and error to find the perfect fit.
